PDFs, forms and signing

The paperwork, in the same place as the notes

Mark up a PDF, build a form once and fill it all week, and send anything for signature — without a second app, a scanner or a printer.

Mark it up

Write on a PDF like it's paper

Import a proposal, a drawing or a contract — or photograph each page of something on the desk — and write straight on it.

  • Pen, highlighter and eraser on every page, with pinch-to-zoom for the small print.
  • Download the marked-up copy with your writing drawn in, or keep the clean original.
  • Photos and scans become a PDF page automatically — straightened and ready to write on.
  • Send the same PDF for signature without exporting it first.
Fillable forms

Build it once. Fill it every week.

A form is a PDF your team fills in again and again. Set it up in a couple of minutes and it's ready on every device.

  1. 1

    Import the blank

Drop in the PDF — a timesheet, an intake sheet, a vendor pack. A photo or a scan works too; ScribleNest turns it into a page.

  2. 2

    Mark where the answers go

Drag boxes onto the page: text, dates, tick boxes and a place to sign. If the PDF is already fillable, its own boxes come across on their own.

  3. 3

    Fill it in, anywhere

Open it in any browser, type into the boxes, sign with a mouse or a finger. Required boxes are checked before it saves.

  4. 4

    It files itself

The finished PDF becomes a page in ScribleNest, in the folder you were in — searchable by the answers on it, ready to write on, share or send for signature.

E-signature

Signed, without the printer

Send a document out for signature, or hand someone the iPad. Either way the signed copy comes back to the notebook it belongs to.

  • Place signature, initial and date boxes for each person, then send.
  • See who has opened it and who has signed, and send a reminder.
  • Sign in person on an iPad or a phone with a finger or a Pencil.
  • Every envelope keeps an audit trail, and the signed PDF is filed automatically.
What teams use it for

Forms that earn their keep

Site and safety checks

A checklist per visit, filled on a phone with no signal and sent when the van gets back in range.

Timesheets and expenses

The same sheet every Friday, filed under the worker and found later by name.

Intake and onboarding

Take details once, on the spot, and keep them with the notes from the conversation.

Agreements

Send the contract for signature, then keep the signed copy beside the meeting that agreed it.

Questions about forms

Do I need a fillable PDF to start?+

No. Most forms are just printed lines — drag the boxes where the answers go and you're done. If the PDF does carry its own fillable fields, ScribleNest lifts them out so you don't place them by hand.

Where do the finished copies go?+

Into ScribleNest as a page, in the folder you were in — one per fill, named after the form and the date.

Can someone fill a form on a phone?+

Yes, in the phone's web browser: tap a box to type, tap the signature box to sign with a finger. The finished PDF comes back as a page you can share straight away.

Is a filled form searchable?+

Yes — the form's name and every answer typed into it are searched along with the rest of your notes.

How does e-signature work?+

Send any PDF — an imported one or a page you wrote — to one or more people, place the signature and date boxes, and track who has signed. In-person signing on an iPad works too. The signed copy is filed for you.

Can I turn a page I've already got into a form?+

Yes. Any PDF page has a “Make it a form” button: it takes the original PDF as the blank and opens the form builder on it.
