ScribleNest is a notes app: handwriting, typed pages, PDFs, forms and signatures, on the web, iPhone and iPad. It's made by Kraferd. This page says what we keep, who else touches it, and how to have it deleted.

What we keep

  • Your account. Your name, email address and password (stored hashed, never readable), the name of your workspace, and the people you invite to it.
  • What you write and add. Notebooks and pages, your handwriting as pen strokes, typed text, whiteboards, the PDFs, photos and pictures you import, forms you fill in, folders, tags, templates and what's in your Trash.
  • Signatures you ask for. When you send a PDF for signature: the signers' names and email addresses, and for each signature the time and IP address, kept as the document's audit trail.
  • Sharing. Who you share a notebook with, and when a view-only link you made was opened.
  • Your phone or iPad. A notification token, the app version and the device's name, so notifications reach the right device.
  • Support and billing. What you send us, and the plan and payments of a workspace that pays.

No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and nothing is sold. Cookies on the website only keep you signed in.

In the app

  • Camera and photos. Opened only when you scan pages or add a picture, and only what you pick is uploaded.
  • Face ID and Touch ID. App lock is checked by your device. The app only learns yes or no; no biometric data leaves your device.
  • Working offline. Pages you open are kept on your device so they open with no signal, and changes you make offline wait there until they sync. Both are encrypted on the device, and signing out removes them.
  • Location, contacts, microphone. Not asked for and not collected.
  • Notifications. Delivered through Expo's push service to Apple, only for things that concern you, like a signature coming back.

AI

When you use an AI feature (reading your handwriting, a summary, or asking a question across your notes), the text or an image of the page it needs is sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. It isn't used to train AI models, and nothing is sent unless you use the feature.

Who else processes it

These companies run parts of ScribleNest for us, and may use your information only to do that.

  • Supabase. The database, sign-in and file storage (United States).
  • Vercel. Hosting for the website, the web app and the app's server (United States).
  • Anthropic. AI features, when you use them.
  • Resend. Emails you ask ScribleNest to send, such as signature requests and invitations.
  • Expo and Apple. Delivering notifications and app updates to your device.
  • A payment processor. Card details for a workspace that pays by card go to the processor, never to us.

Keeping it safe

Each workspace's notes are kept apart at the database level, so nothing can reach another workspace's. Everything travels encrypted, files are handed out through links that expire within minutes, private notebooks are visible only to their owner and the people they're shared with, and the app can be locked with Face ID or Touch ID.

How long we keep it

Your notes stay until you delete them. Deleted notebooks and pages wait in the Trash for 30 days so you can restore them, then are deleted for good, with their files. Database backups roll off within 7 days. When a workspace is closed, everything in it is deleted.

Deleting your account

In the app: More → Delete account. On the web: your workspace's settings, or write to us. The app says exactly what will happen before you confirm.

  • If you're the only person in your workspace. The whole workspace is deleted: every notebook, page, PDF, picture and file in it.
  • If you share a workspace. Your sign-in is removed and your name and email are erased. Notebooks shared with the workspace stay with it; your private ones go with you.
  • Anything unsent on your device. Deleted with it.

Your rights

You can see and change most of what we hold inside the app. You can also ask us for a copy, to delete it, or to stop using it, at support@scriblenest.com. We answer within 30 days. If your notes are in a workspace someone else runs, we'll pass the request to them and help them answer.

Children

ScribleNest isn't meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU and UK), and we don't knowingly keep their information. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

When this page changes, so does the date at the top, and anything significant is announced in the app before it takes effect.
